Welcome to my site.

I enjoy teaching students to love learning, and it’s my goal to instill in them a sense of confidence that they can carry with them for a lifetime.

​

Our class motto is: "Always Question. Always Wonder."

 

The theme for this summer will be Pokémon.

​

I want to share with you the highlights of my professional journey.

 

I was born and raised in the state of Michoacán in Southern Mexico. I am the fourth of nine children and have four children of my own, all grown up. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Gary Loutzenhiser, for 40 years. I met him in the Navy.

​

I served in the U.S. Navy from 1984 to 1991 and lived in Japan for three of those years. My daughter was born there!

​

Upon my return to the U.S., I obtained a Bachelor's in Accounting and was the Chief Financial Officer of a local aviation maintenance company for eight years.

​

I went back to college to earn my Master's in Education in Cross-Cultural Studies. I did my thesis on Dual Immersion Programs and graduated in 2002.

​

And now, here I am, finally doing what I truly wanted to do all along. I'm determined to graduate students who are not only bilingual in Spanish but who are also truly bicultural or multicultural, to honor the diversity that exists in every group of students, and to help you raise kind and caring future leaders of our communities.

​

My approach is "Work Hard, Play Hard." I have high expectations for all my students, and I am 100% committed to providing them with additional learning opportunities beyond the school day.
